Strawberry Kefir

Kefir is a really great drink on its own, but sometimes it’s nice to have a little extra flavor.  If you enjoy kefir, as well as strawberries, then you’ll love our easy to make strawberry kefir.

It’s similar to our Strawberry Banana Kefir Smoothie, except it uses fresh strawberries rather than frozen ones and there are no bananas.  Strawberry kefir tastes great any time of the day.

Ingredients:

  • 3 to 5 strawberries
  • 1 cup of kefir
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of honey (depending on preferred sweetness)

Simply mix the ingredients in a blender and enjoy!

  1. Can you add your (ex. whey) protein mix to this smoothie?

  2. Hi Rachael! Yes, you can definitely add protein mix to this drink. I imagine a strawberry, banana, or vanilla flavored mix would work particularly well with this recipe.

  3. If a want to make kefir two or three times a week, how many days can stay en the fridge? and can I Keep the grains the rest of the days that I don’t make the yogurt covered with milk?

  4. I meant to keep the grains covered with a little milk in the fridge, the days that I don’t want to make the kefir. Thanks.

  5. Hi Maria, I sometimes keep the grains for a week at a time in the fridge in a cup of milk. Two or three days at a time is fine. Let us know if you have any other questions!
